things to do (as a Patient (Pt)); e.g.

1st. get application form from the dental (clinic, hospital) office; approx. 1 minutes;

2nd. fill-up the application (Dx Q&A) correctly && legally (e.g. Address, e Mail, Insurance Policy (Company Name, Group Number, Policy Number), Medical Record history ( rekishi History; Radical995), name, PHONE, ... ), And Then, signature for consent, And Then, submit the application; approx. 15 minutes;

3rd. pay prepaid amount for the Dental Implant (payable to the dental (clinic, hospital)), i.e. in addition to Dental Insurance's policy coverage;

4th. prior to medical oral surgery, make sure yourself immunization (e.g. COVID-19, Tetanus);

5th. get an appointment and medical imagining (CT, X-Ray) done; dentist will come and check physical (mouth, teeth), And Then, explain the (Method, Procedure, Technique) do (s) & don't (s); receive the Treatment Plan e.g. ((surgical extraction of tooth Number), (with or without Local Anesthesia), bone craft), And Then, Implant Placement (tooth Number), ((Local Anesthesia), (Nitrous Oxide), H a l c i o n (e.g. T r i a z o l a m for insomnia (difficult to fall asleep is called "insomnia"))); approx. 5 minutes;

6th. be on time (don't cancel appointment, don't be late), for surgical extraction of tooth Number; approx. 45 minutes;  

7th. POST-OP (after the medical surgery, a.k.a. post-operative) ... ;

8th. (bleeding, oozing) are normal during the 1st 24 hours; place a gauze (directly biting pressure) for 45 minutes, And Then, the patient can be leaving as an out-patient; provide printed POST-OP instructions to the patient; if bleeding continues, place a new clean gauze at the extraction site; if persistent bleeding exists, then moist tea bag, wrapped with gauze should be placed at the extraction site;

9th. swelling is normal during the 1st 72 hours at (adjacent facial tissue, the surgical area); (Black Color, Blue Color) bruising might appear at the patient's (face, neck); bruising and swelling recede (gradually, slowly) over by 4-5 days; on the 1st day of POST-OP (24 hours within only), placing ice packs (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) over the affected area, i.e. one of the (Methods, Procedures, Techniques) to minimize swelling; after 24 hours, avoid Cold Application, instead apply (heating pad, warm facial compress) can decrease swelling; sleeping position (of the patient's head) can be elevated by using extra pillows for decreasing blood flow, i.e. one of the (Methods, Procedures, Techniques) to minimize swelling; 

10th. medications e.g.

(Amoxicillin 500mg) As Antibiotics Medication (preventing infections (because of surgery, because of sutures)),
((H y d r o c o d o n e (e.g. Norco), O x y c o d o n e (e.g. P e r c o c e t)) As Narcotic Medication),
((Ibuprofen, Motrin, Naproxen, Tylenol (Acetaminophen)) As Anti-inflammatory Medication),
(O n d a n s e t r o n, P h e n e r g a n, Z o f r a n) As Medication for (nausea, vomiting) symptoms;

Remark: consult your MD, regarding (drug class (Opioid), pregnancy, serious interaction can occur if (Alcohol + Narcotic)) ... ;

Remark: surgical extraction of the tooth, And Then, bone craft should be done within 1 medical procedure, so patient will be with lesser medications;

11th. avoid water picks flossing (motorized + pressure pump) during the 2 weeks after POST-OP; avoid smoking during dental implant ((5, 6) months); avoid rinsing vigorously, during the 1 week after POST-OP; avoid heavy lifting for 3 days (after POST-OP Day); avoid electric tooth brushing during the 2 weeks after POST-OP; avoid (eating, drinking) hot foods during 24 hours after POST-OP; avoid (alcoholic, carbonated) beverages, during the 1 week after POST-OP;

12th. recommended non-chewable diets (e.g. berries smoothies, eggs, mashed potatoes, milk shakes, noodle (warm ones), warm soup, yogurt, ... ) during the 1st week after POST-OP; recommended gently rinsing with salt water (e.g. 1 teaspoon of salt in a cup of water);

13th. make sure yourself not having abnormal Lymph _Nodes underneath of the jaw (neck area); make sure yourself jaw bone's joints (Close, Open) are OK;

14th. approx. 2 weeks, after the surgical extraction of tooth Number, Implant Placement should be (Dentist decides whether (proper time, right time) to do implant placement e.g. patient doesn't know tissue's conditions, e.g. patient doesn't know inflammation exists or not, e.g. patient doesn't know infections exist or not, e.g. patient doesn't know Vital Signs (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, ... )), And Then, final prosthetic restoration e.g. the tooth Number's implant supported crown;

15th. after Implant Placement (tooth Number's Location), patient needs to wait for (5, 6) months, so adequate bone healing, And Then, final prosthetic restoration;
